Once planning projects have been completed it is critical that the plans be regularly tested for accuracy and completeness. If the current plans are not tested on a recurring schedule they will quickly become out-of-date. Should this occur their contents will quickly become obsolete and inaccurate.

When a disaster strikes time is truly “of the essence”. Over time an untested plan will begin to contain data which is no longer valid or can actually be misleading to the recovery teams. Out-date references to staff no longer with the company; vendors or suppliers no longer under contract with the company and so forth can equate to the loss of valuable time and resources. The plan testing program validates that any such inaccuracies are identified and addressed.
